Dentist, Aorta, and Package

Monday night I ate some of the saltwater taffy that Keith brought home from New Jersey. It was delish until I noticed it was crunchy. Hmmm... Saltwater taffy shouldn't be crunchy. It was my tooth. Not fun. Called the dentist yesterday and went in to see him. I broke the side off of a tooth that was very weak to start with. They patched up as best they could but I'll need a crown. I get very nervous at dental appts. I had to take 1/2 of a Xanax. Next appointment is in three weeks.

Ron already had a broken tooth and an appointment today to have his looked at. Same dentist - they asked how mine was doing (very nice people). The dentist today wasn't too bad (LOL - for Ron). His crown - $465; my crown (in three weeks) - $465. That's after insurance. Yikes! Ron says I'll need to be sedated for them to do to me what they did to him. Double Yikes! I see more Xanax in my future. He says he can drive home. Triple Yikes! Not sure about that but I know that I cannot do the dental work without sedation. Might need to call in the big guns.... Amy!!!!

Almost forgot... Ron's aorta looks good. Back to the drawing board on the blood pressure. He's tracking them and will report back to the doctor next week.

Car needs a water pump, too. hahaha! I had to go to get a new tail light/turn signal light and had my oil changed at the same time. Had a 21-point check up when they did the oil change. Found a problem with the water pump. It's leaking. $276 but I didn't have the money to pay for that. Thank God that Amy's husband not only knows how to do stuff like that, he LIKES to do it and is WILLING to do it. He told me to let him look at what they recommended to have done (90,000 mile checkup) and see what he could do for the cost of parts. I really love that guy! We're so blessed.

A friend told me that God must love me an awful lot to let me go through so many trials. I appreciate the love (really I do), but I'm ready for just a little less of it.

The surprise package has arrived at its destination and he it was safe inside. I can't post exactly "what" it was inside until the recipient takes care of him it on her end.

I think I have a new reader or two. They didn't leave their names but I think one is my nephew's wife (her work ISP showed up in my stats) and one of them may be another relative. No matter who it is - welcome and I hope you enjoy what you read. Trust me, you'll only read truth here. If I sound angry or mad, it will pass. I don't hold grudges. Unfortunately, I do get my feelings hurt (especially by family) very easily so that won't pass quite as easily. But, it will eventually.

Have a great night/day

Good post today Teresa! I liked the comment that God must love you an awful lot to give you so many trials. Well, they do say that He only sends us what we can cope with! I agree though, you could certainly do with a lot less on the trials front! They also say that it never rains but it pours. Yikes, dentists are so expensive nowadays, but thank goodness for your son-in-law. A blessing indeed. Take care and keep smiling!!

too bad you don't have a dentist in your family! When it rains it pours, and honey, you're FLOODED with awful lately. I'm glad you are keeping your faith throughout the troubles.

Good luck with your tooth! I'm glad your son-in-law can fix your car...at least that should save you SOME money!

I always quote the old salt commercial when these things happen .... "when it rains, it pours; it di, it does and I'm cute" Why? Have no idea, it just makes me giggle. Hope your dental appt. goes smoothly.

Good GRIEF! Future note: Don't eat taffy or carmel...very bad on teeth...pulls out fillings and breaks teeth...even known to have removed a few crowns...

Talk about having your plate piled to the sky! I almost don't want to read blogs or watch TV...so much bad news and devastation everywhere!

Regardless, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there...
